Shaking Table Test at the International Earthquake Research Institute:
The Iran Water Resources Management Company, as the specialized parent organization, has long been responsible for certifying and approving accelerometers produced by domestic manufacturers. The country’s water industry is required to procure products through tenders based on an approved vendor list. Accordingly, in Ordibehesht 1403, a shaking table test was conducted at the International Earthquake Research Institute. Reference sensors for the test included two Guralp accelerometers and one Geosig accelerometer. Several harmonic waves, as well as historical earthquakes from Tabas, Manjil, and Bam, were simulated on the shaking table. The accelerometer produced by the knowledge-based company Geopersian Seismograph Co. successfully recorded the vibrations generated with very high precision.

The test of the first inclinometer device manufactured by Geopersian was conducted at the Karkheh Dam. Unfortunately, this test was not successful. The device became stuck within the interval created between the inclinometer tubes, and to retrieve it from the borehole, the Karkheh Dam team had to use the specialized equipment designed for such situations. Research and development does not always yield the desired outcome, and the collaboration with the Karkheh Dam team provided valuable lessons for improvements to the inclinometer design.
